MARTHA LANDMAN

Martha Landman is the principal of Adelaide CBD Psychology. She has a Doctor of Philosophy, Masters of Mental Health and Bachelor of Psychology (Honours), complemented with more than 40 years’ practical experience, providing counselling support to clients. Specialising in helping individual clients (age 18 and above) heal from trauma or the impact of severe life events, Martha has training and expertise in a range of modalities and will select the best treatment to suit each individual.

A SKILLED PROFESSIONAL

Martha Landman has dedicated her professional life to counselling. Completing her formal training at the University of Pretoria, South Africa, she obtained her BA(SW)Hons in 1978 and BA(Hons)Psych in 1981, while she obtained her MA(SS)Mental Health and PhD degrees from the University of South Africa.

Moving to Australia, Martha registered as a psychologist in Queensland (2003). Based in Townsville, she was central in the establishment and co-ordination of the PTSD Program at the Mater Hospital (in Townsville) and she later established the North Queensland Trauma Centre, a private practice.

After being in Townsville for many years, Martha relocated to Adelaide in 2016 and started Adelaide CBD Psychology. She is registered as a psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and is a member of the Australian Association of Psychologists (AAPi).

PASSIONATE ABOUT PEOPLE

Her passion for helping people heal from trauma is what drives Martha personally and professionally. Over the more than 40 years of counselling, she has worked with people of all ages and abilities.

Her extensive training and practical experience has enabled her to develop exceptional skills in helping others overcome the effects of trauma, or the impact of severe life events on overall wellbeing.

Martha strives to create meaningful connections with clients, creating effective channels of communication, allowing her to understand and effectively support them on the journey to healing. This has consistently resulted in positive outcomes.

In the past, Martha has worked with police officers and soldiers, with victims of workplace bullying, sexual abuse and many other forms of violence and trauma. She mainly works with individuals at the age of 18 and above.
